CRE 305 Offered in Spring 2014
In response to the high priority placed on creative thinking and the creative-campus initiative, the Noel Studio and the Minor in Applied Creative Thinking are offering one new CRE course this spring: CRE 305 Creativity and Research. This course will implement a blend of lecture, large- and small-group discussion, in-class collaborative creation and design workshops as well as readings, coursework and creative projects to introduce and reinforce creative thinking skills throughout the multiple disciplines.
CRE 305: Creativity and Research
The Noel Studio’s research coordinator, Trenia Napier is teaming with Reference Team Leader Clay Howard to teach CRE 305 Creativity and Research. This course will provide knowledge on intentional, systematic, and coherent methods for strengthening students’ information literacy, research, and scholarship skills in ways that complement and enhance their creative-thinking skills and practices.
Students will learn strategies to access information efficiently and effectively, manage the abundance of information available, critically evaluate information, synthesize and incorporate information into one’s knowledge base. Further, students will learn to creatively and ethically use, modify, apply and communicate information.
Students pursuing the Minor in Applied Creative Thinking as well as students in other disciplines interested in developing skills for analyzing innovations and becoming efficient, effective and ethical users and producers of information are encouraged to register for these courses!
You can find more information about these courses on the Minor in Applied Creative Thinking page.
