Noel Studio Hiring for Fall 2013
The Noel Studio hires student consultants during the spring semester of each year for the following fall. Being a consultant demands effective written, oral, visual, and electronic communication skills in addition to outstanding interpersonal skills. In general, the minimum requirements for application include having a 3.0 G.P.A. at the time of application and submitting a faculty recommendation that discusses your suitability for the consultant position.
The Noel Studio is seeking applications for the following positions:
Consultants employ critical and creative thinking skills in their consultations with students from across the disciplines at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU). Furthermore, consultations are intended to be interactive, requiring consultants to think through projects, assignments, and challenges actively by engaging students in the creative and collaborative spaces of the Noel Studio. Applicants must be Juniors or Seniors. Students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Successful candidates should possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills, an interest in developing students who can apply critical and creative thinking methods to develop effective communication skills in college learners, a commitment to ensuring the success of a unique integrated learning space, a passion for working with students, a desire to contribute to and shape a new academic space, and the willingness to be an energetic and reliable student representative of the Noel Studio.
Research Consultant (#0613038)
The Noel Studio for Academic Creativity, seeks to fill part-time student research consultant positions beginning fall 2013. Consultants will apply creative and critical thinking strategies to assist students in developing effective research strategies to support the development of oral, written, and multimodal communication products in a collaborative, technologically sophisticated, and fast-paced academic space. Applicants must be Juniors or Seniors.
Desk consultants will work directly with student visitors to help them sign in, schedule appointments for consultations, book spaces, and locate spaces and resources within the Noel Studio. Further, desk consultants will support the day-to-day operations of the Noel Studio, which include filing, answering phones, managing traffic, and maintaining the space. Applicants must be freshmen and sophomores.
