Noel Studio Holds New Faculty Orientation

Each year, EKU welcomes new faculty members to campus during a three-day orientation. New Faculty Orientation (NFO) helps new faculty as they transition to campus. This year, over 50 attendees were welcomed to the Noel Studio, where they learned about teaching, active-learning, and resources available to the campus community, such as consultations and workshops for students.

Hosting NFO in the Greenhouse of the Noel Studio provides the opportunity to network with new faculty while discussing how the program provides campus-wide services for students as they develop written and oral communication. Furthermore, faculty members had the opportunity to sign up for orientations, workshops, and other sessions that promote effective written and oral communication on campus. 

During NFO, faculty had the chance to tour the space, which includes the Greenhouse, Invention Space, Discovery Classroom, Presentation Suite, and Breakout Spaces. Attendees also received packets about the Noel Studio and fall 2013 programs. 

Faculty members are encouraged to schedule orientations for their students to learn about the writing and speaking resources in the space in addition to workshops.
