Noel Studio Launches First Year Writers’ Studio

The Noel Studio for Academic Creativity is excited to announce the First Year Writers’ Studio (FYWS) launched in September and is operational. Designed to provide a supportive environment for ENG 101 students, the FYWS gives students a place to discuss their ideas, ask questions and voice any concerns among peers. To encourage collaboration and answer questions, a facilitator is present and available to give one-on-one and small group feedback.

The FYWS is located in Breakout Space 3 in the Noel Studio from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. every Tuesday with Alex and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. every Wednesday with Taylor. No appointment is necessary; students are encouraged to come and go as their schedule allows.

Tablets, handouts and dry-erase boards are available to support students in the writing process. Students are welcome to bring their own technology or just a printed copy of their paper and class materials.

Whether you are brainstorming, working on formatting, grammar or any stage in between, come to the FYWS and let us help you refine your writing skills!
