Noel Studio ePortfolio and Assessment Research Featured in New Journal

The Noel Studio is featured twice in the new, peer-reviewed Communication Center Journal (CCJ), which was released in December 2015. CCJ publishes scholarship and research focused on the latest in communication-focused teaching and learning. Most contributors conduct research in communication centers, facilities and programs that offer feedback on oral communication.

The Noel Studio’s two articles include:

  • Leek, Danielle, Russell Carpenter, Kim Cuny, and Anand Rao. “Strategies for Assessment in Communication Centers: Perspectives from Across the Field.” Pgs: 49-60.

This article focuses on assessment protocols in place at a sampling of centers from around the country and at different types of institutions. The Noel Studio features an exemplary and comprehensive annual assessment program that examines practices from consultations, workshops, events, and faculty development programming.

  • Fairchild, Jennifer, and Russell Carpenter. “Embracing Collaborative Opportunities: Examining an ePortfolio Bootcamp.” Pgs: 61-71.

This article focuses on research conducted during the Noel Studio’s collaboration with the Department of Communication’s Communication, Leadership, and Change course taught by Dr. Jennifer Fairchild, which brought students into the space for regular workshops over about one month to learn about, design, and revise ePortfolios.

The Noel Studio offers regular faculty and student consultations on communication projects and assignments. For more information, visit the About the Consultations and Collaborate with the Noel Studio pages.
