Public Speaking Competition Goes National

Twelve students competed in a standing-room-only crowd at the second semi-annual Noel Studio Public Speaking Award Competition on Friday, April 20.

This year’s competition was held in the Greenhouse at the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity in conjunction with the National Association of Communication Center’s Conference (NACC).

The Noel Studio hires student consultants during the spring semester of each year for the following fall. Being a consultant demands effective written, oral, visual, and electronic communication skills in addition to outstanding interpersonal skills. In general, the minimum requirements for application include having a 3.0 G.P.A.

Noel Studio Consultants Awarded SWCA Scholarships

The Noel Studio for Academic Creativity hosted the Southeastern Writing Center Association (SWCA) conference at Eastern Kentucky University from February 16-18, 2012. As part of the conference, SWCA awarded scholarships to student presenters on Saturday, February 18 in the Keen Johnson Ballroom.
